Cooper

Cooper was our first dog, the one who taught us what it meant to love a dog. He gave that love back without measure, the way only they can. He was three years old when he died, which is no age at all.

I painted him so the house would never quite be without him. He hangs where we pass him every day, watching the room with that patient, hopeful face, and most mornings it is enough.
